Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Callum Davidson (ranked 4297 p4p, 4362 weight class) and Malcolm Lodge (ranked 0 p4p, 460 weight class). Malcolm Lodge is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Callum Davidson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Malcolm Lodge!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lodge shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Davidson sprawls well. Davidson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lodge gets slowly back to his feet.

and Davidson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Davidson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Davidson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lodge to the mat! Lodge manages to get full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Davidson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lodge has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Davidson has managed to get both his arms back between Lodge's legs - danger averted.

Davidson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Lodge shoots in looking for a takedown but Davidson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lodge's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Davidson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Davidson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lodge tries to avoid it but Davidson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lodge to the ground. Lodge escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Lodge thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Lodge not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Davidson is refusing to be controlled, as Lodge sits in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Davidson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lodge working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davidson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Davidson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Davidson wants to stand but Lodge has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Davidson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Malcolm Lodge showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Lodge throws a front kick aimed at Davidson's knee but Davidson avoids it well.
Davidson leaves Lodge with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Davidson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Davidson slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Lodge might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Davidson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Lodge not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
