Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hassan Fezzik (ranked 1010 p4p, 1697 weight class) and Damar Sulekov (ranked 130 p4p, 205 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hassan Fezzik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damar Sulekov!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Vladimir Khabensky and Sergei Dronov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sulekov chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Fezzik can pounce on him.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sulekov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

It looks like Damar Sulekov has been cut.
Sulekov moves in looking to clinch but Fezzik pushes him off.
Fezzik swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Sulekov.
Sulekov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fezzik moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Fezzik throws a nice outside leg kick.
Fezzik lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Sulekov rushes Fezzik and presses him up against the cage.
Sulekov misses with some punches.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fezzik lands a hook that snaps the head of Sulekov backwards.
Fezzik throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Sulekovs head.

Sulekov has hold of one of Fezzik's legs. Fezzik is fighting the takedown attempt but Sulekov gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Fezzik holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A looping hook to the body misses from Fezzik. Sulekov does a little dance to reset his feet.
And Sulekov tries to counter it with a takedown but Fezzik pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Fezzik fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sulekov has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Fezzik fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sulekov manages to avoid it.

and Fezzik cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

That has opened up Damar Sulekov's cut even more.
Hassan Fezzik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sulekov throws a head kick but Fezzik moves out of range.
Fezzik swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Fezzik throws a jab but it's blocked by Sulekov.
Sulekov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fezzik fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sulekov looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Sulekov takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Sulekov looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

The cut above Damar Sulekov's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Fezzik connects with a body shot that sends Sulekov's belly button to the back.

and Sulekov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Fezzik won't be happy with that.

The strikes coming from Sulekov are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Sulekov is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Fezzik is looking to regain half guard here but Sulekov keeps moving and retains side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fezzik tries to buck Sulekov off but Sulekov is having none of it.

Fezzik pushes Sulekov away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sulekov gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Sulekov is trying to get an arm triangle but Fezzik is defending well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
