PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Albert Vortmont (ranked 2360 p4p, 3782 weight class) and Rio Gracie (ranked 312 p4p, 437 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vortmont gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Vortmont looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Gracie sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Vortmont's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like Gracie might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Vortmont really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Let's hope that Gracie has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Rio Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Gracie throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Vortmont tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gracie is in Vortmont's guard.

Gracie is taking a breather. Vortmont says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Rio Gracie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gracie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
