Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tapp Nowe (ranked 3294 p4p, 5290 weight class) and Dra At (ranked 400 p4p, 509 weight class). Tapp Nowe has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tapp Nowe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dra At! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! At comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. At fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Nowe to the ground. At is now in Nowe's guard. Nowe throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
At passes easily into side control. Nice work. Nowe is looking for a sweep. Nowe sneaks back into half guard. At not doing much here.
Nowe has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. It looks like At might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Nowe is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but At pulls his head out easily. At is looking to take a break and control but Nowe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. At not landing any meaningful shots this time. Nice strikes from At there. Nowe could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nowe flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. At passes the guard and advances to mount! Nowe is bucking up trying to escape but At cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Nowe sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. At wants to control but Nowe is keeping him busy. Nowe gets full guard. At wants to pass the guard but Nowe is keeping the position. At sitting in guard, not really doing much. At must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Nowe looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but At is defending well. Nowe quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! At has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Nowe celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tapp Nowe! After the fight, Tapp Nowe was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
