Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniele Vantaggiato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida swats away the attempt to clinch by Vantaggiato.
Vantaggiato has closed the distance and engaged Machida in a clinch.
Vantaggiato jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Machida walks away with a smile on his face. Vantaggiato gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Vantaggiato avoids the head kick by Machida.

Vantaggiato wants to control from the top but Machida keeps moving.
Machida really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vantaggiato. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Machida decides to stand up, so the ref orders Vantaggiato to his feet.

Machida connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Vantaggiato momentarily.

and Machida counters with a nice double leg into side control. Vantaggiato won't be happy with that.

Vantaggiato is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Machida off and has taken his back!

Machida is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Vantaggiato gets his way!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Vantaggiato trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Machida doesn't escape.
Vantaggiato lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Vantaggiato is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Machida is defending well though. Vantaggiato let's go of the attempt for now.
Vantaggiato keeps control of the position as Machida tries to break free.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Machida takes the fight into the clinch.
Machida is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Vantaggiato jumps guard but Machida stands there with Vantaggiato around his waist. Vantaggiato gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Machida's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Vantaggiato stands and throws Machida's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vantaggiato goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Machida rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Vantaggiato's guard! Nice work there by Machida!
