Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paddy Murphy (ranked 2570 p4p, 3510 weight class) and Stu Redman (ranked 362 p4p, 479 weight class). Murphy comes to the cage accompanied by Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya. Redman has chosen Smke a Little Smoke - Eric Church as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paddy Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stu Redman!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redman wants to clinch.
Redman throws a right hand that Murphy ducks under and follows up with a left that Murphy also avoids with ease.
Murphy thinks about countering with a head kick.

and Murphy counters by clinching up.
Redman has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Murphy after a bit of a struggle.
Murphy works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Murphy creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

We've been hearing that Murphy has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Redman controls Murphy momentarily but Murphy frees himself.
Murphy postures up in Redman's guard and throws a big left but Redman blocks it.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Paddy Murphy.
Well Murphy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
