Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dwayne King (ranked 2129 p4p, 2362 weight class) and Ruddo Ryokale (ranked 259 p4p, 281 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 32 - 1, fighting out of New York, Dwayne King! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 26 - 30 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ruddo Ryokale! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King jabs Ryokale to the body, keeping him at a distance. King scores with a nice strike. Ryokale tries to clinch up. King blocks a head kick by Ryokale.
It looked like King wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Ryokale does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Ryokale takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Ryokale clinches up with King and pushes him back against the cage. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ryokale has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. King misses with some punches.

A short right from King on the inside. King stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. King misses with a punch on the inside.
King lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. King misses with a short punch on the inside. Ryokale has clasped his hands together around King's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. King is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ryokale asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ryokale working the body and head with strikes. Ryokale is trying to get an arm triangle but King is defending well. Ryokale tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ryokale has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! King is trying to buck Ryokale off. Ryokale in side control lands a decent elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. King is pushing Ryokale's head away, looking to escape. Ryokale manages to hold on to the position though. Ryokale in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Ryokale working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Ryokale tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ryokale has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Ryokale misses with the ground and pound. Ryokale lands a few punches from side control. Ryokale is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. King knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. This has been an exciting period of action! Ryokale is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, King has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ryokale misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Ryokale working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
King knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ryokale on the ground. Ryokale in side control, throwing shots but King defends. Ryokale tries for a kimura but King is defending well. Ryokale is putting a hurting on King here, landing some big shots from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ryokale connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused King some visible discomfort.
Ryokale lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Ryokale cracks King with an elbow. That is naaassty. Ryokale thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. King bucks up and tries to throw Ryokale off but instead Ryokale has got his back! Ryokale misses with an elbow to the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ryokale is punishing King with some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ryokale scores with punches to the body. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ruddo Ryokale dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Ryokale drops his hands momentarily and King takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. King throws the left hand but Ryokale avoids the punch easily. Ryokale slips under a jab from King. Ryokale looks like he wants to counter punch here. King tries a head kick but it misses.
King lands with a good body shot. King throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ryokale connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. King with a hook. Ryokale tries to clinch but King moves out of range. Ryokale steps to the side to avoid the strikes from King. Ryokale fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. King moves out of range as Ryokale strikes. An attempted straight right counter from King misses the target. Ryokale tries to land a front kick but King steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Dwayne King is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ryokale tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. King throwing a counter right hand but Ryokale manages to avoid it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ryokale misses with a body kick. Ryokale fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but King is out of range. Ryokale tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. King tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ryokale throws out a leg kick but King moves out of range and Ryokale only half commits. An attempted straight right counter from King misses the target. King paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. King bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ryokale's head backwards. King ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Dwayne King is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ryokale shoots and misses and King counters with a lovely shot to the body. Ryokale misses with a wild body shot. King takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A combination from Ryokale does no damage. Ryokale jabbing away but nothing is landing. King lands with an uppercut that bounces Ryokale off the cage and back into range. Ryokale has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Ryokale is looking to land body kicks. King looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Ryokale tried to score with a low kick but King checks it. King scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ryokale doesn't seem bothered though. A head kick from King lands but Ryokale takes it in his stride. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nice body punch from Ryokale. King rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ryokale moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ryokale throws a body kick that misses and King finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. King scores with the left hand. Ryokale knows he should have avoided that one. King with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
King catches Ryokale with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Ryokale connects with a right hand. King shakes it off. Ryokale chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before King can pounce on him.
Ryokale drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Ryokale slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Ryokale working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
King gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! You get the feeling that King really doesn't like being in this position too much.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee warns King that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Ryokale lands a heavy elbow. Ryokale with shots to the head and body - King looks very uncomfortable down there. Ryokale is going oldschool here, as he tries to force King to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so King shrugs it off. Ryokale thowing shots but they're missing. Ryokale is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. King can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Ryokale wants to finish this one by submission but King is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ryokale.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ryokale with the ground and pound from mount. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ryokale looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Ryokale lands a nice shot to the head. Ryokale lands a heavy elbow. Ryokale jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but King manages to avoid the submission attempt. Ryokale tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ryokale thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ruddo Ryokale showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round! Ryokale misses with a double jab
and King counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. King tries a head kick but it misses.
Horrible takedown attempt by Ryokale or perhaps it was just good defense by King, which made it look bad. Ryokale misses with a right hand and King counters with a lovely shot to the body. Ryokale throws a poor cross that misses
and King counters with a leg kick. Ryokale swings and misses with a hook to the body.
King went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. King takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
King buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ryokale, as that shot connected.
King is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. King throws a nice inside leg kick. Ryokale looks to land a combination but King avoids it well. A decent looking body kick lands there for Ryokale. This has been an exciting period of action! King cracks Ryokale with a good jab. Ryokale swings widly with a right hand
and King makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Some bone on bone action there as King checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. It looked like King wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Some wild striking there from King.
King feints and then cracks Ryokale's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ryokale down. Ryokale looks to land a combination. King sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. King connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. King takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. King cracks Ryokale with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Ryokale's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. King throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. King slips a jab from Ryokale. Ryokale pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. This has been an exciting period of action! King lands a nice shot to the body.
King with a nice calf kick. King dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ryokale. That did some damage!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ryokale takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. King scores with a jab to the head.
King is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. King turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. King looks to land a body kick but Ryokale moved away. King misses with a hook. Ryokale shapes to counter with a head kick. Ryokale shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Ryokale is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ryokale is trying to work for a kimura but King is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ryokale has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can King defend it? Ryokale steps over the head and cranks it - King is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Ryokale!
