Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grand Admiral Thrawn (ranked 4975 p4p, 3888 weight class) and Stu Redman (ranked 572 p4p, 487 weight class). Redman has chosen Smke a Little Smoke - Eric Church as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Grand Admiral Thrawn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stu Redman!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Redman.
Redman connects with a nice looking jab.

Redman clinches with his opponent.
Redman is trying to drag Thrawn to the mat but Thrawn just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Thrawn just misses with a elbow thrown towards Redman's brow.

Redman can't get the takedown.
Thrawn stops a takedown attempt from Redman.
Grand Admiral Thrawn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stu Redman.

Thrawn tries to land a knee to the head but Redman blocks with his arms.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Redman has Thrawn pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Redman pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Thrawn tumbling to the mat - Redman dives into Thrawn's guard.

Thrawn is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Thrawn tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Redman avoids it.
Thrawn throws an elbow that misses.
Our sources have told us that Thrawn has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Redman goes for a takedown in the clinch but Thrawn prevents it.
Thrawn tries to throw a body punch but Redman avoids it by throwing Thrawn back against the cage.

Thrawn tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Redman's elbow.
Redman takes an elbow to the forehead.
Redman has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Thrawn is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Thrawn misses with a hook from the clinch.

Thrawn tries to land knees in the clinch but Redman avoids the damage to the body.
Redman drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Thrawn gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Thrawn fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Redman blocks an elbow strike from Thrawn.

Redman goes for a takedown attempt but Thrawn pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Thrawn is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Redman thows a huge punch but Thrawn dodges it nicely.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Redman lands a nice short elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Redman working over Thrawn with some ground and pound. Thrawn looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Thrawn wants to control but Redman is keeping busy.
Redman is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Redman lands strikes from half guard.
Thrawn is trying to stand back up but Redman is controlling him
Redman lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Redman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Thrawn trying to control but Redman postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thrawn pushes Redman off looking to stand but Redman dives back in and keeps control.
Redman is nestled in close to Thrawn, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Redman looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Thrawn is trying to stand back up but Redman is controlling him
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Redman lands a nice short elbow.
Redman seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Redman not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Redman lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Thrawn is rocked!
Redman lands a big elbow - Thrawn is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Redman!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stu Redman!
