The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nazxul scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Vicious is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Nazxul's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nazxul wants to work for an arm triangle but Vicious is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Nazxul is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Vicious has managed to free his arm - good work.

Vicious makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vicious.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nazxul accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Nazxul drops back, looking for a kneebar! Vicious looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Vicious looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Vicious!
Nazxul looks gassed!

Vicious decides to stand up, so the ref orders Nazxul to his feet.
Nazxul shoots in but Vicious avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ia Nazxul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vicious forces Nazxul back against the cage and clinches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vicious lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Vicious lands with a left to the head.
Vicious lands an elbow inside that Nazxul shrugs off.

Vicious pulls guard successfully.

Nazxul postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Vicious is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nazxul, into his guard.

Nazxul has momentary wrist control but Vicious slips an elbow through the middle.
Vicious stands and throws Nazxul's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Vicious is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Nazxul is trying to escape and Vicious transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Nazxul is forced to tap! Nice work there by Vicious! Very nice indeed!
