Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Chwytny Vlad! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Jerkwater! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jerkwater ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vlad moves away. Jerkwater misses with a body shot.
A combination from Jerkwater does no damage. Jerkwater shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vlad sprawls well. Vlad wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jerkwater gets slowly back to his feet. Jerkwater tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vlad was well out of range. Poor timing from Jerkwater. Vlad with a poor takedown and Jerkwater counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Vlad is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jerkwater wants to pass to mount but Vlad is defending the position. Vlad tries to get to full guard but Jerkwater has control of the leg. Vlad looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Jerkwater is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Vlad has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jerkwater is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Vlad is looking to improve his position.
Vlad gets full guard. Vlad is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jerkwater defends well. Jerkwater pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Vlad is keeping the position for now. Jerkwater landing some decent shots from guard. Jerkwater wants to control from the top but Vlad keeps moving. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Vlad has his foot on Jerkwater's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jerkwater works his way back into a safe position though. Vlad keeping moving, preventing Jerkwater from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jerkwater trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Vlad working for a triangle but Jerkwater defends it easily.
Jerkwater wants to control from the top but Vlad keeps moving. Jerkwater must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Jerkwater looks gassed! Vlad is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Jerkwater rolls with it to try and escape but Vlad cranks on the arm and Jerkwater is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
