Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 19 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kirov Sturmovik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yuri Voronov!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Voronov looks to score with a jab to the body but Sturmovik is just out of range.
Sturmovik throws a big shot that misses.
Sturmovik misses with a straight right.
Voronov throws out a counter right but Sturmovik avoids it with no problem.
Voronov lands a leg kick that knocks Sturmovik off balance momentarily.
Sturmovik feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Voronovs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
It looks like Yuri Voronov has been cut.
Voronov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sturmovik throws out the jab.
Sturmovik on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Voronov. Voronov obviously looking to wear him down.
Sturmovik throws an off balance right hand
and Voronov counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sturmovik throws a combination that misses
and Voronov connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Kirov Sturmovik has been cut.
Voronov looks to throw the jab but Sturmovik is out of range.
Sturmovik gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Voronov gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yuri Voronov!
After winning the bout, Yuri Voronov thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
