Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pyay Thuta (ranked 1100 p4p, 1489 weight class) and Shichiroji San (ranked 168 p4p, 214 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pyay Thuta! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shichiroji San! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thuta uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from San. Thuta fires out a quick counter leg kick but San just manages to avoid it. San misses the body punch and Thuta counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. San lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Thuta throws a lazy head kick and San counters with a stiff right hand. San throws a body punch but Thuta moves out of range. Thuta throws a quick counter head kick but San was just out of range. San swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Thuta. Thuta avoids the head kick by San.
Thuta walks into a left hand. A jab from San misses. As San backs away, Thuta returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. San feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Thutas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Thuta avoids the head kick by San.
Thuta was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Thuta moves away from the strike by San. Thuta swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. San lands a jab to Thuta's midsection.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that San has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Thuta throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Thuta throws an uppercut from half a mile away. San sees it coming and avoids it easily. A big right from San misses. Thuta misses with a kick to the body enabling San to counter with a crisp jab. Thuta lands a leg kick that knocks San off balance momentarily. Nice body punch from San. San connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Thuta throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. San misses with a wild body shot. San with a body punch. A glancing blow. San avoids a kick to the body.

A nice inside leg kick there by Thuta. That's going to slow San down. Thuta slaps away a takedown attempt from San, before circling back to the center of the mat. Thuta bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps San's head backwards. San's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Thuta takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Thuta throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. San throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Thuta lands a front kick. San looks winded! A big right from San misses. Thuta cracks San with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Thuta throws a leg kick which misses San's front leg but catches the back leg as San tries to avoid it. Shichiroji San seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. San looks to throw the jab but Thuta is out of range. Thuta looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Thuta is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Thuta throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Thuta lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Thuta slips a straight right by San. Thuta appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. San misses with a body shot.
Thuta lands a jab to the nose. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Thuta lands a lovely overhand right. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Pyay Thuta will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! San throws an overhand right that lands on Thuta's shoulder, as Thuta tries to avoid the shot. San swings and misses with a shot to the body and Thuta counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Thuta throws a half hearted mid kick. Thuta throws a shot to the body.
San misses with a shot to the body and Thuta counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Thuta lands a big head kick that sends San tumbling to the mat! Thuta takes a step backwards and waves San back to his feet - he wants the finish!
San is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. San misses with a right hand and Thuta counters with a nice leg kick. San is still on wobbly legs! Can Thuta finish him? Crack! A monster head kick from Thuta and San falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Thuta!
