Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksandr Grishov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Anthony Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Grishov takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Grishov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pettis keeps Grishov at a distance using the push kick.
Pettis throws a sloppy head kick and Grishov moves out of range easily.
Pettis swings for the body but Grishov moves out of range.
Grishov shoots in for a takedown but Pettis shows good takedown defense.

Grishov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Pettis is looking to stand back up but Grishov counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Pettis.

Pettis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grishov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Grishov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pettis has managed to free his arm - good work.
Grishov slips a nice elbow through Pettis's hands, connecting with Pettis's forehead.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Grishov takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Pettis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Grishov seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Pettis is rocked!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Grishov in particular looking to stall.
Pettis is still in real trouble! Can Grishov finish him?
Grishov lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Grishov seems to be looking for submissions.
Pettis seems to have recovered his senses.
Pettis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pettis has hold of Grishov's hands but Grishov slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Grishov lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Pettis on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Grishov wants to work for an arm triangle but Pettis is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Grishov seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Pettis is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
