PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brad Carson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arnold Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Arnold Palmer was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Brad Carson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Arnold Palmer!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Palmer closes the distance and pushes Carson back into the cage.
A nice right hand lands inside from Palmer.
Carson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Palmer is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Palmer floors Carson with a big punch on the inside! Carson is trying to recover but Palmer dives into side control.


Carson is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Carson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Palmer taking a breather here.
Palmer wants to control but Carson is keeping him busy.
A lull in the action here as Palmer stalls from top position.
Carson connects with an elbow from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carson is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Palmer is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Carson wants to hold on but Palmer pushes him away.
Palmer thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Palmer goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Carson is on top in guard.
Carson wants to control from the top but Palmer keeps moving.
Carson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Carson wants to stand but Palmer has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Palmer looking for a sweep. Not yet Palmer, not yet.
Carson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Palmer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Palmer is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Palmer looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Carson misses with a wild combination.
Palmer connects with a stiff jab that staggers Carson - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Arnold Palmer!
