Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alkandros Vasilios!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nick Johnny!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasilios gets a double leg takedown into Johnny's guard.
Johnny is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Johnny is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Vasilios content to stall in guard here.
Vasilios in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Vasilios won't allow Johnny to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnny has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Vasilios has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Johnny stops a takedown attempt from Vasilios.
Vasilios has been working on his balance at Canadian Combat Academy, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Johnny.
Johnny is trying to stall.
Johnny lands with a short shot to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnny tries to land knees in the clinch but Vasilios avoids the damage to the body.
Johnny wants to get back to striking at distance but Vasilios won't allow it.
Vasilios pulls guard effortlessly.
Vasilios is trying to control the position but Johnny postures up.
Vasilios has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnny can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Johnny stands up from Vasilios's guard - Johnny perhaps looking for a knockout.
Johnny has closed the distance and engaged Vasilios in a clinch.
Vasilios takes an elbow to the temple.
It looks like Alkandros Vasilios has been cut.
Johnny wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Vasilios has him pressed against the cage.
Vasilios drags the fight down to the ground.
Johnny trying to control but Vasilios is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vasilios is trying to control the position but Johnny postures up.
Johnny seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Vasilios is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Johnny is aware though and is defending well.
Johnny trying to control the position from guard on top but Vasilios is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vasilios not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vasilios is controlling Johnny's posture.
Johnny is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Johnny looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Johnny content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Vasilios has locked up a guillotine! Vasilios's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Johnny is holding on here and Vasilios must be using up a lot of energy. Johnny has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Vasilios gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
