The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Schlepper stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Schlepper wants it to stay on the feet. Schlepper is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Schlepper fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Adamz to the ground. Schlepper is now in Adamz's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Adamz (0) vs (2) Schlepper Schlepper forces his way into half guard. Schlepper not doing much here.
Schlepper is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Adamz! Score +3 for passing guard: Adamz (0) vs (5) Schlepper Schlepper takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Adamz is looking to improve his position but Schlepper isn't that keen on the idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schlepper controlling from the full mount.
![](https://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/1.gif) That's one minute gone in the round. It looks like Schlepper might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Adamz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Schlepper has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Adamz is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Huug Schlepper! After the big win, Huug Schlepper made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Furnace Performance 🔥 and telling the interviewer how much he loves him. |
