Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Schneider (ranked 2143 p4p, 4120 weight class) and Franz Nicholas (ranked 255 p4p, 453 weight class). Fred Schneider has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Fred Schneider! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Franz Nicholas! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nicholas lands with a straight right. Schneider didn't see that one coming. Nicholas connects with a nice looking jab.
Nice defenses there by Schneider. Schneider scores with a shot to the body.
Nicholas cracks Schneider with an open hand slap. Schneider takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Nicholas takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Schneider uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Nicholas. Schneider darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Schneider definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Nicholas feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Schneider sprawling to the canvas! Schneider rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Nicholas finish him?!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Schneider darts in and clinches Nicholas up against the cage. Nicholas jumps into guard, dragging Schneider to the mat.
Schneider controls from within his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schneider is looking to advance position but Nicholas has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Schneider is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Nicholas tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Schneider tries to lock up and control but Nicholas gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schneider is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position. Nicholas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Schneider. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Schneider tries to hold on but Nicholas postures up. Schneider sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schneider gets back to full guard.

Nicholas manages to get himself to full guard.

Nicholas being controlled here, momentarily. Schneider stands and throws Nicholas's legs to the side, diving into side control. Nicholas tries to escape back to his feet but Schneider has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Nicholas's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Nicholas is tapping! Schneider saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!
