Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Island (ranked 2253 p4p, 2643 weight class) and Craig Simonsgaurd (ranked 295 p4p, 340 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, James Island! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Craig Simonsgaurd! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Island scores with a nice right hand.
A punch lands to the side of Simonsgaurd 's head but he takes it in his stride.
It looks like Craig Simonsgaurd has been cut. Island looks to land a combination but Simonsgaurd avoids it well. Island connects with a body shot that sends Simonsgaurd's belly button to the back. Island throws a lazy uppercut
and Simonsgaurd counters with a single leg into guard. Island didn't expect that. Simonsgaurd pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Island is keeping the position for now. Island on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Island tries to get out of the position. Simonsgaurd advances to half guard. Island trying to control but Simonsgaurd postures up.
Simonsgaurd is trying to work for a kimura but Island is defending well.
Island knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Simonsgaurd on the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Simonsgaurd tries to pass the half guard into mount. Island knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Simonsgaurd is working for a submission of some sort.
Simonsgaurd is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Island sees it coming and defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Simonsgaurd prevents Island from improving his position. Simonsgaurd is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Island has managed to free his arm - good work. Island is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Simonsgaurd has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Island defend it? Simonsgaurd steps over the head and cranks it - Island is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Simonsgaurd!
