Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Gustafsson (ranked 753 p4p, 820 weight class) and Ralph McGuire (ranked 113 p4p, 128 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying McGuire's choice of entrance music: Confederate Railroad - Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Kind. Ralph McGuire acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ralph McGuire!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gustafsson avoids the head kick by McGuire.
As McGuire looks to move away, Gustafsson throws a big counter combo but McGuire just gets out of the way.
McGuire swings for the body but Gustafsson moves out of range.
Gustafsson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McGuire avoids it really well and circles away.
McGuire throws a hook but Gustafsson avoids it easily.
Gustafsson attempts a counter takedown but McGuire avoids it well and moves away.
A nice leg kick from McGuire, right into the meat of the thigh.
The fighters circling - McGuire throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGuire throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gustafsson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
McGuire lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Gustafsson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McGuire tries to avoid it but Gustafsson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McGuire to the ground. McGuire escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
McGuire defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gustafsson.

and Gustafsson counters with a left and a right that stings McGuire.
Gustafsson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

As McGuire looks to move away, Gustafsson throws a big counter combo but McGuire just gets out of the way.
The fighters circle momentarily. McGuire darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
It looks like Simon Gustafsson has been cut.
Gustafsson closes this distance looking for a takedown but McGuire circles away.
Gustafsson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
McGuire misses with an uppercut. Gustafsson saw that one coming.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gustafsson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McGuire is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gustafsson, into his guard.

Gustafsson looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but McGuire puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McGuire prevents Gustafsson from improving his position.
Gustafsson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McGuire pulls his head out easily.

McGuire decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Gustafsson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
McGuire thows a left - swing and a miss!
McGuire thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Gustafsson if he has to take too many more of those.
Gustafsson is breathing heavily.
Gustafsson dives in and grabs McGuire's left leg, looking for a takedown. McGuire pushes down on Gustafsson's head and hops out.
Gustafsson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
McGuire drops Gustafsson with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Gustafsson looks back up at him and smiles so McGuire waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Gustafsson is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McGuire lands with a thumping leg kick.
Oh Gustafsson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. McGuire engages and cracks Gustafsson with a massive lead left hook - Gustafsson tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! McGuire is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ralph McGuire!
A relieved looking Ralph McGuire thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
