With a record of 31 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bryant Smith!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayden takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Smith misses with a right hand
and Hayden counters with a nice leg kick.
Smith misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bryant Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hayden goes for a double leg but Smith avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Smith continues to drive forward.

Smith takes a swing at Hayden's ribcage but misses.
Smith is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hayden moves away.

Smith pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
It looked like Hayden was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Hayden misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hayden seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hayden dives in and scores a takedown into Smith's guard.
Smith utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hayden working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Smith has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hayden is working away from the top position though.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Smith fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hayden on the side of the head.
Smith swings for the body but Hayden moves out of range.
It looked like Hayden was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Smith.
Hayden takes one to the side of the head.
Smith throws a hook to the side of Hayden's head but Hayden sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Bryant Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Smith looks to score with a jab to the body but Hayden is just out of range.

Smith loads up on a big right hand but Hayden slips the punch.

Hayden lands with a kick to the temple. Smith shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith misses with a head kick.

Hayden clobbers Smith with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Smith scores with a jab. Hayden acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Hayden paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Smith throws a body kick that misses.
Smith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Smith looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
A looping hook to the body misses from Smith. Hayden does a little dance to reset his feet.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Smith lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hayden has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hayden and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Smith is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Hayden.
Smith chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hayden can pounce on him.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bryant Smith will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Smith walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hayden checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Smith chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hayden can pounce on him.
Hayden takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Smith loads up on a big right hand but Hayden slips the punch.
Smith moves out of range of the body kick from Hayden.
Smith shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Smith.
Bryant Smith seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Hayden moves into the clinch.
Smith lands a body shot.

Hayden escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hayden lands with a cross.
Smith walks forward, straight into a front kick from Hayden.
Hayden tries for a takedown but Smith sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Smith misses with a straight right.
Smith lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Smith darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Hayden is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hayden is aggressively charging in as Smith backs up avoiding any damage. Smith tosses out a jab and Hayden runs right into it face first! Hayden is out cold! Smith dropped down on all fours and is barking in Hayden's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
