This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 42 wins and 17 losses; Shaka Zulu! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 66 wins and 37 losses; Judas Priest! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Priest closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Zulu quickly recovers to half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Zulu (0) vs (2) Priest Well, if Priest is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Zulu's coaches at SSJ Gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Priest is pressing down on Zulu's thigh, looking to free his foot. Zulu is holding on for now. Zulu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Priest trying to control from Zulu's half guard. Zulu has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Zulu seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Zulu will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. Zulu controlling the position easily from mount. Priest prevents Zulu from taking his back. Zulu takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Zulu tries to control but Priest wriggling away. Zulu content just to control the position here. Priest is trying to escape the mount.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Zulu controlling from the full mount. Zulu prevents Priest from getting the reversal. Zulu controlling the position easily from mount. Priest really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Zulu seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Priest for as long as he can get away with. Priest tries to escape but Zulu has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
