Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darth Vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christer F Asplund (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vader comes to the cage accompanied by Its A New Day. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asplund misses with an uppercut. Vader saw that one coming.
Asplund throws a series of punches but Vader avoids them all with ease.

Asplund looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Vader tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vader has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Asplund throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vader throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Asplund's waist but Asplund gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vader off to one side.
Vader bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Asplund looks gassed!
Horrible takedown by Vader or perhaps it was just good defense by Asplund which made him look bad.

Vader will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Asplund throws a left and a right that both miss
and Vader counters with a shoot takedown. Asplund fights it but they end up in guard.
Asplund pushes Vader off and gets back to his feet.
Asplund throws a leg kick that is checked
and Vader counters with a nice double leg into side control. Asplund won't be happy with that.
Asplund is trying to buck Vader off.

Asplund is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Asplund regains half guard, as Vader was trying to land strikes.
Asplund kicks Vader off and gets back to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Vader has closed the distance and engaged Asplund in a clinch.
Asplund softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Asplund escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Vader counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Asplund has his feet on Vader's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Darth Vader dominated that second round.
That's time! Vader's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Asplund lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Asplund misses with a jab, cross combination.
Asplund tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Vader darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Asplund looks like he's trying to stand up.

Vader works his foot free and advances to mount.
Vader looking to control but Asplund is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Asplund is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Asplund has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Asplund is trying to get back to his feet but Vader has full control of the position and if anything, Asplund has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Darth Vader overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Asplund is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it.
Vader keeps the fight on the outside.
Christer F Asplund has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Darth Vader is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Darth Vader is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Asplund looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Vader has picked Asplund up and slammed him! Asplund can't keep hold of the triangle and Vader manages to pass to side control!

Asplund is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Vader remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vader, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
