And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 7 losses; Drake Johnson! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Johnson misses with a takedown attempt - Laperierre sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Johnson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Laperierre is trying to defend but Johnson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Laperierre (0) vs (2) Johnson

Johnson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Laperierre defends it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson is trying a forearm choke� I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Laperierre knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Laperierre tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Johnson has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Score +3 for passing guard: Laperierre (0) vs (5) Johnson Laperierre is in all sorts of trouble here.
Laperierre looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Johnson goes for an armbar but Laperierre turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Laperierre. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Laperierre (2) vs (5) Johnson Laperierre not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Laperierre won't allow Johnson to sweep him here. Laperierre wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.
Laperierre got a little sloppy there for a moment and Johnson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Laperierre has managed to get both his arms back between Johnson's legs - danger averted.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Laperierre is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Laperierre might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Johnson has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Laperierre should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Johnson has tightened it up now! Laperierre should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
