PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charlinho Motosserra (ranked 2078 p4p, 3166 weight class) and Zeducous Zarandous (ranked 113 p4p, 161 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Charlinho Motosserra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Zeducous Zarandous!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Bart Greer.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Motosserra tries to clinch there but Zarandous circles away.
Motosserra gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Zarandous looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Motosserra throws a lazy uppercut
and Zarandous counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Charlinho Motosserra has been cut.
Motosserra moves forwards but Zarandous connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Motosserra jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Zarandous now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Motosserra throws a lazy uppercut

and Zarandous counters with a crisp one two that drops Motosserra! Zarandous thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Motosserra to his feet! Motosserra is in big trouble!
Motosserra fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zarandous ducks under a wild hook from Motosserra.
Zarandous throws the left hand but Motosserra avoids the punch easily.
Motosserra waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Zarandous.

Motosserra avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Zarandous misses with a looping left.
Zarandous throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Motosserra counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Motosserra fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
A frustrated look appears on Zarandous's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Zarandous breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Motosserra tries to bum rush Zarandous with a series of wild strikes but Zarandous uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Zeducous Zarandous is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Motosserra changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zarandous tries to avoid it but Motosserra manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zarandous to the ground. Zarandous escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Zarandous doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Motosserra defending well as Zarandous loads up on a big left hand.
Zarandous paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A swing and a miss from Motosserra.
Zarandous throws out a counter right but Motosserra avoids it with no problem.
Motosserra swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Motosserra clinches with his opponent.

Nice body punch from Motosserra - that landed with a thud.
Motosserra fails to pull the fight into his guard.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Zarandous creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Motosserra throws a punch but it's blocked by Zarandous.
Motosserra goes for a takedown in the clinch but Zarandous prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Charlinho Motosserra. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Zarandous breaks the clinch.

Motosserra misses with a hook

Motosserra gets a takedown into half guard.
Zarandous is trying to control but Motosserra passes into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Motosserra tries for a kimura but Zarandous is defending well.

Motosserra working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Motosserra has hold of Zarandous's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Zarandous seems comfortable defending it but Motosserra has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Zarandous is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Zarandous is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Motosserra couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Charlinho Motosserra!
After the fight, Charlinho Motosserra was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
