The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aquilani fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Walken looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Aquilani closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Aquilani stands up and beckons Walken to his feet. Aquilani shoots in for a double leg but Walken sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. The fight moves into the clinch position. Aquilani tries to land a knee to the head but Walken blocks with his arms.
Aquilani wants the takedown. Walken is fighting it off but Aquilani persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Walken's guard against the cage. Aquilani stands up from guard. Let's bang! Aquilani bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Aquilani decides to stand back up. Aquilani steps back and let's Walken get back to his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Walken looks to clinch and Aquilani counters with a shoot takedown. Walken fights it but they end up in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aquilani gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Aquilani clinches up against the cage. Walken tries to land knees in the clinch but Aquilani avoids the damage to the body. A battle for position here, against the cage. Aquilani has Walken pushed against the cage.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Aquilani decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Walken, up you get! Aquilani has Walken up against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Aquilani looking for a guillotine here but Walken defends easily.

Aquilani scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Aquilani working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Aquilani is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Aquilani thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Aquilani drops back looking for a leg! Walken is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Walken manages to kick Aquilani off! Aquilani jumps back into Walken's guard. Aquilani has gone for a leg lock! Walken slips out almost immediately though and dives into Aquilani's guard. Aquilani looking for a guillotine here but Walken defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Aquilani has his foot on Walken's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Walken works his way back into a safe position though. Aquilani escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Walken gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Walken trying to control the position from guard on top but Aquilani is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Walken in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Walken wants to control from the top but Aquilani keeps moving. Aquilani pushes a forearm under Walken's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Walken is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
