Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sameer Nair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Tarudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nair has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sameer Nair! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Tarudo! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tarudo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Still in half guard, Tarudo seems content to control. Nair is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tarudo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tarudo's back! Nair is trying to stick to Tarudo's back but Tarudo is turning into Nair. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Nair's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Tarudo. Tarudo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nair is keeping the position for now. Tarudo works a leg free and moves into half guard. Nair is breathing heavily. Tarudo keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Tarudo not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Tarudo with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Tarudo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Nair trying to control but Tarudo postures up.
Tarudo is trying to work for a kimura but Nair is defending well.
Tarudo trying to mount his opponent but Nair defends it. Tarudo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tarudo uses his free foot to push down on Nair's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Nair. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tarudo is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! The fight stays on the outside here - Nair looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Nair moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Nair is looking to clinch but Tarudo is avoiding it.
Nair tries to clinch but Tarudo is having none of it. Tarudo looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Tarudo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tarudo passes Nair's left leg - he's now in half guard. Tarudo has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Tarudo misses with a head shot. Tarudo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Tarudo has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Nair is forced to tap!
