Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Teppo Puukko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pat Andes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pat Andes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Teppo Puukko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pat Andes!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andes throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Puukko.

Puukko scores a takedown into full mount!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Andes manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Puukko lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Puukko is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Andes is just riding it out for now. Puukko eventually gives up the hold.

Andes moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Andes looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Puukko drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Andes dives on top into guard.

Puukko has his foot on Andes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Andes works his way back into a safe position though.

Andes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Puukko keeps working.

Puukko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Puukko tries to kick Andes off but Andes keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Puukko is staying active underneath Andes, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Puukko wants to control but Andes is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Andes shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Puukko counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Andes's guard now.
Puukko tries to stand but Andes is controlling from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Puukko postures up in Andes's guard and throws a big left but Andes blocks it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Andes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Andes throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Teppo Puukko dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Puukko doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Andes counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Puukko!
Andes avoids the attempt from Puukko to control.

Andes looking to break Puukko's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Puukko remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Andes will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Andes has the hooks in. Puukko is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Andes lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Andes.
Puukko tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Puukko wants to control his opponent's hands but Andes gets his hands free.
Puukko breaks Andes's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Andes keeping moving, preventing Puukko from controlling successfully.

Puukko has gone for a leg lock! Andes slips out almost immediately though and dives into Puukko's guard.

Puukko has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Andes is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Puukko.

Andes tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Puukko is looking to reverse the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pat Andes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Puukko closes the distance and clinches up with Andes, looking for a takedown. Puukko pushes Andes against the cage but Andes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Puukko changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Andes tries to avoid it but Puukko manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Andes to the ground. Andes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Teppo Puukko. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Andes closes the distance and clinches.

Puukko is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Andes knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Andes for a finish.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

I would just about give that final round to Pat Andes.
Well Andes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
