Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Papa Roach-Getting Away With Murder. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernandes scores with a push kick.
Davis fails to land with a series of punches.
Hernandes moves out of range of the body kick.
Hernandes gets tackled into the cage by Davis. Davis maintains the clinch.
Hernandes is trying to break free.
Davis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hernandes misses with a wild body shot.
Davis is looking to counter with a body kick.
Hernandes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Davis circles away quickly and effectively.
Davis is looking for a counter combo.
Davis takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Davis takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Hernandes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hernandes cracks a nice hook into Davis's ribs.
Davis is breathing heavily.
Davis moves out of range of the body kick.
Hernandes lands a left and a right that send Davis crashing to the mat, dazed. Hernandes thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Davis is rocked!
It looks like Harry Davis has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hernandes cracks Davis with a hook to the temple - Davis is on wobbly legs here! Hernandes swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Davis falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Hernandes wins by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Wanderlei Hernandes!
