Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Long (ranked 25141 p4p, 25391 weight class) and Bob Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanders is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Gansbaai. Bob Sanders has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kurt Long!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bob Sanders!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanders feints and as Long raises his hands in defense, Sanders changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sanders controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Sanders pushing down on Long's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Sanders is keen to just control but Long is a slippery customer.
Long is looking to improve his position.
Sanders wants to pass the guard but Long is defending well.
Sanders scoring with strikes to the body and head.

Sanders seems to be working for a kimura but Long defends the submission attempt.
Sanders with the ground and pound but Long uses the opportunity to regain guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sanders stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Long swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sanders is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Long reverses the position - he's now on top in Sanders's guard.

Long really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sanders is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Sanders keeping moving, preventing Long from controlling successfully.

Long got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sanders has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Long has managed to get both his arms back between Sanders's legs - danger averted.
Sanders looking to hit a scissor sweep but Long is one step ahead there.
Sanders keeps trying to improve his position.

Long trying to control but Sanders is working from the bottom.
Long has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sanders is proving hard to escape from.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Long is trying to work for a sweep but Sanders has mounted him!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Long tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sanders manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Sanders shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Long is trying to defend but Sanders finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Long is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sanders pulls his head out easily.

Long thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sanders's head.
Long wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sanders keeps working.
Long throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Long dives in and grabs Sanders's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sanders pushes down on Long's head and hops out.

Sanders throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Long tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sanders is in Long's guard.

Long had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sanders defends it easily.

Sanders has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Sanders is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Long is just riding it out for now. Sanders eventually gives up the hold.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Kurt Long has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bob Sanders is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

A punch lands to the side of Sanders 's head but he takes it in his stride.
