Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roy Kalama (ranked 1388 p4p, 1498 weight class) and Pyotr Petrov (ranked 182 p4p, 202 weight class). Kalama comes to the cage accompanied by Firestarter - The Prodigy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pyotr Petrov!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalama misses with a wild body shot.
Kalama jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Petrov pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A counter left hand to the body from Kalama misses its target.
Kalama stuns Petrov with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Petrov throws a hook but Kalama blocks it.
Kalama swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Kalama wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
A slow jab from Kalama misses its intended target.
Kalama missing with a left hand there. Petrov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kalama darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Kalama slips under a jab.
Kalama throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Petrov sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Kalama tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Petrov was well out of range. Poor timing from Kalama.
Kalama jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Petrov lunges at Kalama with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kalama's hand.
Kalama has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Petrov finds it's way round the side to connect with Kalama's head.

Kalama is rocked!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Petrov has cracked Kalama with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Petrov lands another huge swinging hook and Kalama tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Kalama, before Petrov can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Pyotr Petrov!
