Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Minatay Mibangon (ranked 24338 p4p, 24282 weight class) and Wala Sapi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Minatay Mibangon has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Minatay Mibangon seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 31 - 7, fighting out of Las Vegas, Minatay Mibangon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 24 - 29 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wala Sapi! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Mibangon fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Sapi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mibangon as he avoids it easily. Mibangon quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Sapi takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Sapi is trying to counter with his kicks. Sapi shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mibangon is trying to defend but Sapi finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mibangon is looking for a sweep. Sapi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sapi keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Mibangon wants to control but Sapi is keeping busy.
Still in half guard, Sapi seems content to control. Sapi trying to pass the guard but Mibangon defending well. Sapi looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. It looks like Sapi might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mibangon misses with an attempted mid kick.
Sapi counters with a body kick. Sapi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Sapi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mibangon desperately trying to maintain half guard. Sapi not doing much here.
Mibangon is trying to maintain the position but Sapi is very close to passing his half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Sapi keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Mibangon controlling the position well. Sapi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mibangon keeps working. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mibangon works his way to full guard. Good work. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Wala Sapi dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Mibangon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sapi sprawls well. Sapi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mibangon gets slowly back to his feet. Mibangon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sapi's waist but Sapi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mibangon off to one side. And Sapi responds with a good body kick, but Mibangon manages to step out the way in time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sapi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mibangon but Mibangon pushes him off and we're back to square one. It appears Mibangon was looking to counter with a kick there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sapi misses with a kick to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Mibangon tries to clinch but Sapi moves out of range. Mibangon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sapi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Sapi steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Minatay Mibangon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mibangon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sapi was covering up waiting for the punch and Mibangon finishes the takedown easily into guard. Sapi is pulling down on Mibangon's head. It's preventing any offense from Mibangon, at least for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mibangon engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sapi pulls Mibangon in to control the position. Mibangon is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Sapi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sapi wants to hit a sweep here but Mibangon passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Sapi there!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sapi tries to hold on but Mibangon postures up. Mibangon looking to control and managing it successfully. Sapi wants to control but Mibangon is having none of it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Minatay Mibangon dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Mibangon shoots in but no luck this time. And Sapi responds with a good body kick, but Mibangon manages to step out the way in time. Sapi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mibangon wants to get back to full guard. Sapi with the ground and pound but Mibangon uses the opportunity to regain guard. Mibangon controls Sapi momentarily but Sapi frees himself. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mibangon looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mibangon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sapi controls the pace. Mibangon trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Sapi content to stall in guard here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Mibangon shoots in for a takedown but Sapi shows good takedown defense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. No luck for Mibangon with that takedown attempt. Sapi tries to counter by closing the distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Minatay Mibangon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sapi drives through with a takedown into guard. Sapi stays in close to Mibangon's body and controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sapi's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Mibangon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sapi manages to get himself to full guard.
Sapi has Mibangon pulled in close to control his posture. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sapi is trying to keep Mibangon in close.
And that's the end of the fight! Wala Sapi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sapi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
