Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mean Gean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 32 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yawa Kiang!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gean looks to land a right hand but Kiang moved out of range.
Kiang counters with a body kick.
Gean looking to score a takedown here. Kiang is defending well but Gean drives through and ends up in Kiang's guard.
Gean stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kiang swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gean drops back looking for a leg! Kiang is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kiang manages to kick Gean off! Gean jumps back into Kiang's guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Gean's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gean sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kiang's guard.
Gean passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kiang!
Gean working for a submission but Kiang is keeping him at bay.
Gean moves to the back position.
Gean is cranking Kiang's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Kiang! He's tightened the choke and Kiang is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mean Gean!
Mean Gean decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
