PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Bobandy (ranked 2496 p4p, 1571 weight class) and Everest Frank (ranked 132 p4p, 85 weight class). Frank has chosen Knife Talk x Drake ft. 21 Savage x Project Pat as his entrance music. Everest Frank will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randy Bobandy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Everest Frank!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frank works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

It looks like Randy Bobandy has been cut.
Bobandy throws a head kick that misses.
Bobandy looks to throw the jab but Frank is out of range.
Bobandy shoots in looking for a takedown. Frank tries to sprawl out of it but Bobandy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Frank manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Frank has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Frank throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Bobandy manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Frank on his heels. He'll look to pass Frank's guard now, I'm sure.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Frank has Bobandy pulled in close to control his posture.

Bobandy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Frank is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bobandy, into his guard.

Frank moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

and Frank counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Frank fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Frank lands a really nice looking cross but Bobandy seems unphased.

Frank lands a nice shot that snaps Bobandy's head back.
Frank dives in for a single leg takedown but Bobandy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Frank is on top in guard.

Bobandy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Frank is trying to control but can't.

Bobandy thows a huge punch but Frank dodges it nicely.
Frank is looking for a sweep. Bobandy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Bobandy is trying to ground and pound but Frank uses the momentary lack of control by Bobandy to regain half guard.

Everest Frank showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Bobandy takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Bobandy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Frank manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Frank connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Randy Bobandy's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Everest Frank seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Bobandy closes the distance but Frank moves to the side
and Frank counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Frank jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Jeez, Randy Bobandy's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Frank connects with a body shot that sends Bobandy's belly button to the back.

Frank blocks a jab.
Frank now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Oooooh!!! Frank has knocked Bobandy down with a huge combo! Frank steps away and waves a wobbly Bobandy back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Randy Bobandy's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Everest Frank!
In his post fight interview, Everest Frank gave a big smile as he said 'England I JUST SMASHED YOUR BOY!!!'.
Randy Bobandy was interviewed post fight and said 'Frig off. I'm gonna get a cheese burger then get drunk with Mr Lahey. '.
