PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patamon Pallaton (ranked 1994 p4p, 24963 weight class) and Noomnoi Sitsongrit (ranked 261 p4p, 640 weight class). Noomnoi Sitsongrit told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patamon Pallaton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Noomnoi Sitsongrit!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Sitsongrit as Pallaton shoots in.

Pallaton shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Sitsongrit is looking to get back to is feet but Pallaton passes into side control.
Pallaton gets to mount! Sitsongrit was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Pallaton takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sitsongrit tries to improve his position but instead Pallaton has taken his back!
Sitsongrit is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Pallaton's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Pallaton is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pallaton is not going to allow Sitsongrit to sit and survive in this position.
Pallaton slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Pallaton gets his hands free as Sitsongrit looks to control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pallaton seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sitsongrit for as long as he can get away with.
Pallaton definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Pallaton has his takedown stuffed
and Sitsongrit counters with a stiff right hand.

Pallaton drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Sitsongrit is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Pallaton dives into side control.

A lull in the action here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pallaton has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Sitsongrit tries to bench press Pallaton off him but Pallaton keeps the position.
Sitsongrit is trying to work for a sweep but Pallaton has mounted him!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sitsongrit has given up his back here.
Pallaton is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
We've been informed that Sitsongrit has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Patamon Pallaton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's time! Pallaton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Pallaton blocks a head kick by Sitsongrit.
Sitsongrit throws a sloppy head kick and Pallaton moves out of range easily.
Sitsongrit slaps away a takedown attempt from Pallaton, before circling back to the center of the mat.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pallaton tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sitsongrit defends well and Pallaton ends up having to push Sitsongrit into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Pallaton gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Sitsongrit wants to stand back up but Pallaton manages to pass into side control.
Sitsongrit looks to move to half guard but instead Pallaton has passed into mount! Damn!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sitsongrit looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Pallaton controlling the position well here. Sitsongrit rolled but Pallaton kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Patamon Pallaton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sitsongrit tries to escape the position.
Pallaton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sitsongrit can do to turn this around?
I would not like to be Sitsongrit right now.

Sitsongrit is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Pallaton just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Noomnoi Sitsongrit has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pallaton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
