PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 3122 p4p, 4465 weight class) and Marty Pickle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Jones !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marty Pickle!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones looking to score a takedown here. Pickle is defending well but Jones drives through and ends up in Pickle's guard.

Pickle working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pickle is trying to control the position but Jones postures up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Pickle is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Jones is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Pickle shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Marty Pickle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jones takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jones enables Pickle to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jones manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Jones has his feet on Pickle's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Pickle sneaks out the side door and pushes Jones away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Pickle throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones 's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pickle off to one side.

Jones gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pickle to score an easy takedown into full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Marty Pickle comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Pickle has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
