Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Kruger (ranked 1578 p4p, 2439 weight class) and Vincenzo Oliveira (ranked 212 p4p, 295 weight class). Jesse Kruger has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jesse Kruger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vincenzo Oliveira! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oliveira uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kruger. Oliveira looks to land a left hand but Kruger moved out of range nicely. Kruger misses with a left hand and Oliveira counters with a straight right hand. Kruger missing with a left hand there. Oliveira was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Oliveira throws a hook but Kruger blocks it. Kruger feinted with a counter takedown. Kruger drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Kruger looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Oliveira! Oliveira really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kruger. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kruger trying to control the action but Oliveira is working from the bottom. Oliveira is looking for a sweep. Kruger is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Oliveira is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Kruger has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. An elbow from Kruger crashes against the mat.

You can see the frustration on Oliveira's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kruger lands a few punches from side control. Kruger looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Oliveira is avoiding damage well.
Oliveira is looking to reverse the position. Kruger is looking to take a break and control but Oliveira is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kruger throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Kruger wants to control but Oliveira is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kruger lands a few punches from side control. Kruger is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Oliveira to escape.
Kruger cracks Oliveira with an elbow. That is naaassty. Oliveira is looking to regain half guard here but Kruger keeps moving and retains side control. Kruger tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kruger has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kruger lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Oliveira down.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Oliveira can do anything to dispel that myth. Oliveira tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kruger wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Kruger lands a decent elbow from side control. Oliveira tries to improve position but can't. Kruger creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Oliveira sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Oliveira is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Kruger is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Oliveira is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Kruger landing strikes. We've been informed that Oliveira has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Kruger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kruger in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Kruger lands a nice forearm strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oliveira is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Kruger connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Oliveira some visible discomfort.
Kruger misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Oliveira is working to avoid the ground and pound but Kruger connects with a decent elbow. Kruger misses with the ground and pound. Kruger trying to control the position but Oliveira is working away. Kruger fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Kruger tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Oliveira is trying to improve his position. Kruger throws a strike aimed at the side of Oliveira's head but Oliveira avoids it well. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jesse Kruger dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! A cross from Oliveira lands. Oliveira ducks under a wild hook from Kruger. Nice uppercut lands for Kruger. That snapped Oliveira's head back.
Oliveira scores with a jab. Kruger acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Kruger steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Oliveira. The fighters circle momentarily. Kruger darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Kruger throws a poor cross that misses
and Oliveira counters with a nice uppercut. A jab lands there for Kruger. Kruger uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Oliveira. Jesse Kruger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Good shot there by Kruger. Kruger bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Oliveira's head backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kruger misses with a looping right. Oliveira slips under a jab. Kruger moves forwards but Oliveira connects with a nice, crisp jab. Oliveira connects with the punch. Oliveira throws a quick inside leg kick. Kruger pivots, looking for a leg kick but Oliveira is out of range and Kruger settles back down. Kruger fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Kruger throws out a token jab with nothing on it. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Oliveira! But no joy. Vincenzo Oliveira is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nice defenses there by Kruger. Donk. Kruger catches Oliveira right on the button with a cross. Vincenzo Oliveira seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kruger throws a shot from downtown. Oliveira moves away and avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oliveira rushes Kruger and presses him up against the cage. Kruger tries a body shot but Oliveira blocks it.
Kruger jumps guard but Oliveira turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Kruger tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jesse Kruger. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kruger can't find room to land a body shot as Oliveira controls the action.

Kruger ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kruger no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Oliveira trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kruger is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kruger looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Oliveira engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Kruger looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Oliveira got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kruger has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Oliveira has managed to get both his arms back between Kruger's legs - danger averted. Oliveira is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Kruger keeping moving, preventing Oliveira from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kruger trying to keep a closed guard but Oliveira is proving a slippery customer.
Kruger is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Oliveira can do to turn this around? Kruger is looking for a triangle but Oliveira pushes his legs off easily.
Oliveira is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Kruger has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Oliveira is looking to defend but Kruger has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Oliveira! Kruger pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Oliveira taps out and this one is all over!
