Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Khabib Makarov (ranked 4403 p4p, 4304 weight class) and Khamzat Kimaheave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Khamzat Kimaheave!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makarov scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Makarov goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Makarov gets caught napping as Kimaheave dives in and scores a takedown. Makarov manages to retain guard.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Makarov manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Makarov lands an elbow that stopped Kimaheave in his tracks for a moment.

Kimaheave tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Kimaheave is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Makarov to keep the fight standing.

and Makarov counters with a big head kick but Kimaheave shrugs it off.

Makarov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Makarov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kimaheave to the mat! Kimaheave manages to get full guard.

Makarov turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Well Makarov has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Khabib Makarov was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
