Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nikolay Pletnev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Miguel Garces!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Illya Tyunina and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garces changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pletnev tries to avoid it but Garces manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pletnev to the ground. Pletnev escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pletnev lands a jab to the head.
Garces throws a head kick that misses
and Pletnev counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Garces shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pletnev defends it nicely.
Garces tries to land a body kick
and Pletnev counters with a straight right hand.
Garces is rocked!
Pletnev takes the fight into the clinch.
Garces is still on wobbly legs! Can Pletnev finish him?
Garces is trying to force a seperation but Pletnev has the dominant position.
Pletnev holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Garces seems to have recovered his senses.
Pletnev throws a big uppercut that drops Garces! More strikes from Pletnev and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Garces lies dazed against the cage as Pletnev celebrates with his cornermen!
