PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patamon Pallaton (ranked 1797 p4p, 4519 weight class) and Lexus Chaos (ranked 234 p4p, 501 weight class). Chaos is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Chaos Insurgency. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patamon Pallaton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lexus Chaos!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pallaton keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Chaos.
Chaos throws a series of punches but Pallaton avoids them all with ease.
Chaos lands a jab.
Nice defenses there by Pallaton.
Pallaton drops down looking for a counter takedown but Chaos sprawls and moves away.
Chaos throws an overhand right that lands on Pallaton's shoulder, as Pallaton tries to avoid the shot.
Chaos lands a glancing blow to the side of Pallaton's head.
Chaos moves into range and connects with a jab.
Chaos lunges at Pallaton with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pallaton's hand.
Chaos lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Chaos.

Pallaton shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pallaton showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Chaos looking for a kimura from the bottom but Pallaton passes into side control!

Pallaton has control of an arm but Chaos manages to advance to Pallaton's back!
Chaos looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
You can see the frustration on Pallaton's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Pallaton turns into Chaos and is now in his guard.

Pallaton is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Chaos is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Pallaton off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Chaos wants to escape the position.
Chaos is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Chaos tries to escape but Pallaton has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

A close round but Lexus Chaos will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Pallaton tries for a takedown but Chaos sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Pallaton closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Chaos to the mat! Chaos manages to get full guard.
Pallaton sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Chaos's guard.
Pallaton works his foot free and advances to mount.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chaos tries to hold on but Pallaton pushes him away.
Chaos tries to improve his position but instead Pallaton has taken his back!

Chaos tries to roll but Pallaton sticks to his back.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Chaos tries to escape the position.
Pallaton has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Chaos's body.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Chaos is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pallaton is riding his opponent, not letting Chaos buck him off.
Chaos is really stuck here.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Pallaton.
Pallaton not allowing Chaos to control his hands.
Patamon Pallaton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pallaton has the hooks in. Chaos is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Pallaton slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Patamon Pallaton dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Pallaton gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Chaos connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A big right from Chaos misses.
Chaos defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pallaton.
Chaos misses with a hook.
Pallaton definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Pallaton shoots for a double leg takedown but Chaos sprawls well. He's pushed Pallaton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Pallaton seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Chaos for as long as he can get away with.
Pallaton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Chaos can do to turn this around?
