Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlton Draught (ranked 2610 p4p, 1739 weight class) and Aimo Surakka (ranked 321 p4p, 216 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Draught might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to JACKEDANDSTACKEDMASSMONSTER. Aimo Surakka told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carlton Draught! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aimo Surakka! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Draught throws a nice looking combination but Surakka bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Carlton Draught seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Draught shoots in but no luck this time. Surakka keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. A swing and a miss from Surakka. Surakka scores with a nice head shot.
It looks like Carlton Draught has been cut. Surakka lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Draught dives in and grabs Surakka's left leg, looking for a takedown. Surakka pushes down on Draught's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlton Draught. That's going to take a lot out of him. Surakka misses with a hook. Draught throws a big counter combination but Surakka scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Nice shot by Surakka. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Draught dives in for a single leg takedown but Surakka sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Draught wants a takedown.
Surakka lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Surakka makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Draught being controlled against the cage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Surakka cracks Draught with a nice body shot. Draught is breathing heavily.

Surakka's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Draught throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Surakka tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Draught is in Surakka's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Surakka is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Surakka is looking to stand up but Draught isn't so interested in that idea. Surakka pulls Draught in close to his closed guard and prevents Draught from doing any damage or advancing position. Surakka trying to keep a closed guard but Draught is proving a slippery customer.
Draught looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Surakka can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Draught with a flurry of punches that miss. Draught looking to pass the guard. Draught wants to control from the top but Surakka keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Surakka wants to get back to full guard. Surakka controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Draught tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Draught has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Draught is trying to get an arm triangle but Surakka is defending well. Surakka tries to improve position but can't. Draught tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Draught moves into full mount! Surakka won't be happy about that! Draught trying to control but he's not successful this time. Surakka tries to hold on but Draught pushes him away. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Aimo Surakka will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Carlton Draught's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Draught walks into a straight right hand from Surakka. Carlton Draught is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Surakka throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Draught's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Surakka connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Draught scrambles back to his feet. Surakka thuds his right hand into Draught's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Good exchange - Surakka coming out on top. Surakka has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Surakka throws a body shot but no joy. Aimo Surakka seems to be getting the better of the standup. Surakka ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Surakka throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Draught on the side of the head. Surakka scores with a hook to the body. Draught takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Surakka stuffs the takedown attempt from Draught. Draught gets slowly back to his feet. Draught on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Carlton Draught's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Surakka stuns Draught with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Surakka lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Draught has his takedown stuffed and Surakka counters with a nice body shot. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Donk. Surakka catches Draught right on the button with a cross. Draught needs to keep his hands up - Surakka had a free shot at his head there. Draught takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Draught gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Surakka counters with a left to the body. Draught takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Jeez, Carlton Draught's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Draught shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Draught takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Surakka lands a nice hook to Draught's body. Draught takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Surakka connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Carlton Draught's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
