Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kostass Lazos (ranked 4349 p4p, 25366 weight class) and Danny Rand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danny Rand has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kostass Lazos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danny Rand!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rand misses with a head kick.
Lazos fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lazos tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rand defends well and Lazos ends up having to push Rand into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Rand misses the shot to the body.
Rand throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Lazos blocks a low kick nicely.
Rand throws a body punch but Lazos moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rand will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Lazos has closed the distance and engaged Rand in a clinch.
Lazos is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rand pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kostass Lazos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lazos jumps into guard, dragging Rand to the mat.
Lazos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rand gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rand wants to pass the guard but Lazos is keeping the position.

Rand gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Lazos shoots in for a takedown but Rand shows good takedown defense.

Danny Rand is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rand will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rand pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lazos dives in and scores a takedown into Rand's guard.
Rand is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Lazos dives into side control.
Rand is not content to let Lazos control the position.

Lazos remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Rand really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lazos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rand is looking to regain half guard here but Lazos keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Lazos trying to control the action but Rand is working from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rand is trying to buck Lazos off.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kostass Lazos will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
