Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Francisco Babyara (ranked 2310 p4p, 2818 weight class) and Mitsugu Takeishi (ranked 130 p4p, 151 weight class). Takeishi has chosen Kabuki Gomen-Jyo as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 34 - 40 - 0, fighting out of London, Francisco Babyara! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 33 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mitsugu Takeishi! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takeishi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Babyara sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Takeishi somewhat. Takeishi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Babyara swivels and escapes. Babyara avoids the head kick by Takeishi.
Babyara rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Takeishi moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Babyara swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Takeishi counters with a series of strikes. Babyara will be more careful next time no doubt. Babyara blocks a head kick by Takeishi.
Babyara keeps the fight on the outside. Babyara went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Babyara throws a body shot but no joy. Takeishi fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Babyara tries to counter by clinching up but Takeishi breaks away and moves out of range. Francisco Babyara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mitsugu Takeishi. Babyara misses with a two punch combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takeishi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Babyara.

Takeishi shoots in for a takedown but Babyara shows good takedown defense. Takeishi has taken the fight to the clinch.
Takeishi drops down looking for an ankle pick but Babyara pulls his leg out and moves away.
Takeishi closes the distance and pushes Babyara back into the cage. Babyara wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Takeishi has him pressed against the cage. Takeishi is defending well against a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takeishi manages to pull guard.
Babyara has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Takeishi is proving hard to escape from. Babyara will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Babyara being controlled here momentarily. Babyara looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Takeishi working for submissions but it's allowed Babyara to get to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Babyara stalling away here and it's allowed Takeishi to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Takeishi isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Babyara stacks Takeishi on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Babyara!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Babyara laying and praying for a moment but Takeishi takes advantage and regains half guard. Takeishi is holding on to half guard well. Takeishi works his way to full guard. Good work. Babyara won't allow Takeishi to sweep him here. Babyara pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Takeishi is keeping the position for now. Babyara trying to control the position from guard on top but Takeishi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Takeishi has Babyara pulled in close to control his posture. Babyara passes Takeishi's left leg - he's now in half guard. Babyara wants to pass to mount but Takeishi is defending the position. Babyara prevents Takeishi from improving his position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Takeishi is still trying to improve position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Francisco Babyara will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Takeishi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Takeishi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Babyara manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Babyara looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Takeishi throws a big right hand that misses. Takeishi throws a big right hand that misses. That's one minute gone in the round. Takeishi advances position into side control! Babyara struggling a bit here. Babyara knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Takeishi on the ground. Babyara sneaks back into half guard. Babyara makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Babyara. Babyara utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Babyara tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Babyara working a defensive guard but Takeishi manages to pass into side control anyway.
Babyara is trying to improve his position. Takeishi throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. The strikes coming from Takeishi are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Takeishi misses with the ground and pound. Babyara can't do much from the bottom here. Takeishi tries for a kimura but Babyara is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takeishi tries to advance to mount but can't. Takeishi stands up and beckons Babyara to his feet. A big left from Babyara misses. Babyara throws a right and a left that Takeishi avoids nicely. Takeishi appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Mitsugu Takeishi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Babyara's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Babyara duly obliges. Francisco Babyara is winning the standup battle so far. Takeishi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Takeishi controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Babyara tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Takeishi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Babyara tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Takeishi misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Takeishi looking to control and managing it successfully. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Babyara is wriggling around trying to escape.
Babyara is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Mitsugu Takeishi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Babyara rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Takeishi moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Nice defenses there by Takeishi. Babyara lunges at Takeishi with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Takeishi's hand. Babyara thuds a left hand into Takeishi's body. Takeishi fails in his attempt to clinch. Takeishi ducks right into an uppercut from Babyara. Takeishi doesn't succeed with the takedown and Babyara counters with a lovely shot to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Babyara misses with a few strikes there.
Takeishi is looking to clinch. Takeishi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Takeishi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Babyara paws at him with a jab and circles away. Babyara is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Takeishi has Babyara up against the cage in a clinch.

Babyara is trying to pull guard but Takeishi turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Takeishi is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Babyara jumps guard but Takeishi turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Francisco Babyara. That's going to take a lot out of him. Takeishi decides to pull guard. Takeishi keeping moving, preventing Babyara from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Takeishi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Babyara is aware though and is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takeishi controlling Babyara's posture. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Takeishi can do anything to dispel that myth. Babyara trying to control the position from guard on top but Takeishi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Babyara looking to improve position, pressing down on Takeishi's thigh with his hand. Takeishi seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Babyara paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Babyara's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Takeishi picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
