The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Schottink drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Schottink (2) vs (0) Mazinho Mazinho looking for a guillotine here but Schottink defends easily.

Schottink is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Mazinho looking for a sweep. Not yet Mazinho, not yet. Schottink trying to control the position from guard on top but Mazinho is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mazinho looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mazinho throws his legs up looking for a submission but Schottink uses it to pass to side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Schottink tries to control but Mazinho wriggling away. Mazinho is trying desperately to improve position. Schottink controlling from mount. Schottink trying to control but Mazinho is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mazinho defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Schottink. Schottink is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Mazinho is surviving well by controlling Schottink's body position as best he can. Schottink looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Schottink sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Schottink seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mazinho for as long as he can get away with.

Schottink can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mazinho is looking to escape. Mazinho tries to get back to half guard but can't. Schottink looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Schottink content just to control the position here. Mazinho is trying to escape the mount.
Mazinho keeps trying to improve his position. Schottink has control of Mazinho's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mazinho regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Mazinho is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Mazinho looks winded! Mazinho has his foot on Schottink's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Schottink works his way back into a safe position though. Mazinho keeping moving, preventing Schottink from controlling successfully. Schottink advances to half guard. Mazinho tries to roll over but Schottink keeps him under control. Schottink looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Schottink is keen to just control but Mazinho is a slippery customer. Mazinho actively working from the bottom here. Schottink wants to control but Mazinho is keeping him busy. Schottink tries to pass to full mount but Mazinho defends it. Mazinho is looking to improve his position.
Schottink is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Schottink is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mazinho doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Schottink. Mazinho is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Schottink pulls his head out easily.

Mazinho has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Schottink is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mazinho. Score +3 for passing guard: Schottink (12) vs (2) Mazinho Schottink wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mazinho, who protects the arm well. Mazinho is trying to improve his position. Schottink is looking to take a break and control but Mazinho is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mazinho tries to buck Schottink off but Schottink is having none of it.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Mazinho wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Schottink has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Mazinho's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Mazinho is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Schottink!
