Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Lahey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Loke Sabel!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Fedor Mirinova and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabel shoots in and drives through. Lahey sprawls well.
Sabel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Sabel throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lahey was covering up waiting for the punch and Sabel finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Lahey had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sabel defends it easily.
Lahey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sabel on the ground.
Lahey keeping moving, preventing Sabel from controlling successfully.
Sabel keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lahey's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sabel cracks Lahey with a solid left hand.
Sabel loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sabel keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lahey's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lahey avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Lahey is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Sabel with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Sabel with a nice head shot there.
Lahey can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sabel controls the pace.
Lahey has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Sabel cracks Lahey with a solid left hand.
Sabel controls from within his opponent's guard.
Lahey utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lahey preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Sabel controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sabel lands a couple of digs.
Sabel loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Lahey trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Sabel avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sabel shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jim Lahey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Loke Sabel.
Lahey keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Sabel tries for a takedown but Lahey sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Lahey stuns Sabel with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Lahey moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Lahey throws a body shot but no joy.
Lahey throws a series of strikes that have Sabel backpedaling.
Lahey misses with a wild body shot.
Sabel fails with a takedown attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sabel walks into a jab.
Sabel shoots for a takedown but Lahey saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lahey rushes Sabel and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Sabel is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Lahey piles on the pressure and Sabel crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jim Lahey!
An out of breath Jim Lahey thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
