Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Albert Vortmont (ranked 3243 p4p, 4283 weight class) and Teófilo Stevenson (ranked 398 p4p, 469 weight class). Stevenson has chosen TEÓFILO STEVENSON - NOCKOUTS as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Teófilo Stevenson!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stevenson drives through with a takedown into Vortmont's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

It looks like Stevenson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Stevenson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Vortmont quickly recovers to half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Vortmont's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Let's hope that Stevenson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well Stevenson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
