Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ray Cartier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paolo Azzadiu!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Ben Watson and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Azzadiu is predictable there
and Cartier counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cartier.
Azzadiu had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cartier defends it easily.
Cartier got a little sloppy there for a moment and Azzadiu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cartier has managed to get both his arms back between Azzadiu's legs - danger averted.
Cartier knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Azzadiu on the ground.
Cartier's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Cartier sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Azzadiu's guard.
Cartier lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Azzadiu looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Cartier lands strikes from half guard.
Cartier uses his free foot to push down on Azzadiu's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Azzadiu.
Azzadiu is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Cartier with shots to the head and body - Azzadiu looks very uncomfortable down there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Azzadiu is still in real trouble! Can Cartier finish him?
Azzadiu seems to have recovered his senses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cartier is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Azzadiu can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Azzadiu is trying to escape the mount.
Cartier landing strikes, looking to finish!
Azzadiu is bucking up trying to escape but Cartier cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Cartier is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Azzadiu can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Cartier postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Azzadiu in real trouble here! The ref calls for Azzadiu to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ray Cartier!
After winning the bout, Ray Cartier thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
