Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roby Leed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Maman Suraman!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Suraman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Suraman stays in close to Leed's body and controls the position.
Suraman won't allow Leed to get back to his feet.
Suraman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Leed wants to stand but Suraman is controlling the position.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Suraman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Suraman lands in his opponent's guard.

Suraman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Suraman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
We've been hearing reports that Leed has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Leed misses with a combination

and Suraman counters with a shoot takedown. Leed fights it but they end up in guard.

Suraman has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Leed is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Suraman yanks on the arm and Leed is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Suraman.
