Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Garon Knightley (ranked 3850 p4p, 4505 weight class) and Jake Foster (ranked 310 p4p, 360 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Garon Knightley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Foster! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Topper Green and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knightley takes a swing at Foster's ribcage but misses. Knightley misses the jab. Nice shot by Knightley. Knightley throws a poor cross that misses
and Foster counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Knightley tries to get to full guard but Foster has control of the leg. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Foster in particular looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Knightley won't allow Foster to pass to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Foster is taking a breather. Knightley says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Let's hope that Foster has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Knightley's coaches at The Quarry have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Foster's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Foster prevents Knightley from improving his position. Knightley actively working from the bottom here. Foster sitting and controlling from the half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Knightley misses the jab. Knightley throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Foster tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Foster misses with a hook. Foster has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Garon Knightley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Foster throws an off balance right hand
and Knightley connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Knightley's jab looks to have found its range, popping Foster under the eye. Knightley swings widly with a right hand
and Foster counters with a takedown into side control. Knightley is being controlled here. Foster wants to control but Knightley is keeping him busy. Foster controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knightley is positioning himself to get back to half guard. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Knightley manages to get back to half guard. Foster controlling the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Foster prevents Knightley from improving his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Foster sitting and controlling from the half guard. Foster winds up and cracks Knightley with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Foster prevents Knightley from improving his position. Knightley looking for submissions off his back. Foster perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Foster passes to full mount! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Foster dominated that round. That's time! Knightley's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Knightley connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Foster misses with a hook. A jab from Knightley misses. Foster defending well as Knightley loads up on a big left hand. Knightley throws an off balance right hand
and Foster counters with a nice double leg into side control. Knightley won't be happy with that. Knightley gets back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Foster content to control rather than advance. More stalling from Foster.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knightley is looking to improve his position.
Foster trying to control the pace. Knightley looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Foster wants to free his trapped foot but Knightley is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Foster wants to control but Knightley is keeping him busy. Foster works his way into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Knightley tries to bench press Foster off him but Foster keeps the position. Foster landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Foster is looking to take a break and control but Knightley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Knightley tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jake Foster has got the better of the ground game so far. Knightley is working hard here to advance position. Foster landing strikes. Knightley tries to bench press Foster off him but Foster keeps the position. Knightley is not content to let Foster control the position. Knightley gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Foster is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Foster uses his free foot to push down on Knightley's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Knightley. Foster lands a nice shot to the head. Knightley regains half guard. Knightley has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Foster is working away from the top position though. Foster works his foot free and advances to mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Foster tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Foster showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round! Foster throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Knightley to counter with a crisp jab. A cross from Knightley lands. Knightley uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Foster. A slow jab from Knightley misses its intended target. Foster avoids a punch combination nicely.
Foster with the counter takedown but Knightley avoids it easily. Knightley keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Foster. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Knightley comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Knightley falls off balance throwing a combination
and Foster counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Foster. Garon Knightley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's one minute gone in the round. Foster showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Foster has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Knightley had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Foster defends it easily. Knightley is looking for a triangle here but Foster uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Jake Foster is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Foster just content to control the position. Knightley is looking for a sweep. A lull in the action here as Foster stalls from top position. Knightley tries to buck Foster off but Foster is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Foster controls the position from side control. Foster is continuing to stall.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Knightley lands with an uppercut that bounces Foster off the cage and back into range. Knightley throws a shot from downtown. Foster moves away and avoids it. Knightley connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Foster displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Knightley throws out the jab. Garon Knightley is winning the standup battle so far. Foster ducks under a wild hook from Knightley. Foster with the counter takedown but Knightley avoids it easily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Knightley throws a hook to the side of Foster's head but Foster sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Foster feints the counter takedown. Foster waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Knightley.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Garon Knightley. I think Foster has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
