Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Oscar Gage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rodrigo Carioni!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carioni rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Gage counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Rodrigo Carioni has been cut.
Carioni throws a poor cross that misses
and Gage counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gage.
Carioni keeping moving, preventing Gage from controlling successfully.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carioni can do anything to dispel that myth.
Gage wants to pass the guard but Carioni is keeping the position.
Gage drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Carioni dives on top into guard.
Carioni really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gage. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gage has his foot on Carioni's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carioni works his way back into a safe position though.
Gage is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gage definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carioni tries to stand but Gage is controlling from the bottom.

Carioni is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Gage has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Carioni is looking to defend but Gage has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Carioni! Gage pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Carioni taps out and this one is all over!

After winning the bout, Oscar Gage thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
