Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roger Sparr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jennson Jameison! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jameison has Sparr up against the cage in a clinch.
Sparr changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jameison fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jameison has a takedown stuffed. A little feinted left hand from Sparr on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Jameison shoots in for a takedown but Sparr shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Roger Sparr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jennson Jameison. Nice defenses there by Jameison. Jameison tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Sparr counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Jameison! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jameison being controlled for a moment. Sparr working the head and body with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sparr controls the position from side control. Sparr scores with punches from side control. Jameison is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Sparr has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Jameison is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Sparr yanks on the arm and Jameison is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Sparr.
